How BurnLinks works

Share sensitive information through one-time encrypted links. Secrets are designed to be viewed once, then removed.

1

Create a secret

Paste a password, token, API key, or any sensitive message. Optionally choose expiration settings before sending.

2

Share the one-time link

We generate a unique link for your recipient. You send the link through your preferred channel.

3

Secret is destroyed

After the first successful view (or at expiry), the secret is removed so it cannot be reopened later.

What this helps you avoid

  • API keys lingering in chat history
  • Passwords forwarded to unintended recipients
  • Secrets left in email threads
  • Long-term exposure from copied plain text

Security model

  • Secrets are encrypted at rest.
  • One-time links are intended for single retrieval.
  • Expiration settings limit how long a secret can live.
  • Audit-related metadata can be retained for operations and abuse prevention.

Best practices

  • Send links over trusted channels only.
  • Set the shortest practical expiration time.
  • Rotate credentials after sharing when possible.
  • Do not store revealed secrets in long-lived plaintext notes.
